For someone who grew up on the Ziggurat and knows no mercy, reprieve, or even pain, war was salvation. There you could simply kill without thinking, hoping that someday they would kill you, and death would erase the memories of Mother Ishtar’s curse. But the war ended, and the long-awaited peace turned out to be sticky, syrup-sweet—and for some reason extremely vile.
Following orders, the war heroine goes to the very heart of the hostile naaga civilization that inhabits the Magellan Cloud. She doesn’t expect to return—because from there no one comes back. She hopes she will die for a reason.
From the “Ishtar’s Legacy” cycle.
