The events take place in 2005 in Moscow, on whose territory Gates to two parallel worlds—Heaven and Hell—have opened. The hero of the novel, a private detective, receives three assignments in a single day: from representatives of Hell, Heaven, and a gangster “family.” Soon the New Committee of State Security (NKGB) also gets involved.
