A Cold

Boris Krieger’s play takes place in Paris, in a wealthy house on the quay, where the family of a fugitive Russian oligarch, Nikolai Prokofievich Stattsky, lives illegally with his wife Elizaveta Ilinichna and their daughter Elya, a Sorbonne student.
However, despite the fairy-tale quality of the plot, the play is sharp, modern, sharply political, and socially incisive. It addresses the relationship between power and business in Russia, the situation of Russian illegal immigrants in Paris, and also the problems of Parisian homeless immigrants.
The play is written in a masterful style. The characters are organic, vividly visible, sensually tangible. The personalities are full-blooded, alive, easily recognizable, memorable. The play is original. It is both timely and timeless at the same time.
