A writer working in the science-fiction genre is mysteriously transported from the 21st century to the very height of the 1970s of the 20th century. What’s more, he finds himself in his own body—only at the time of his youth. The hero decides to try not only to rewrite his own fate, but also the lives of those dear to him. At the same time, he has no intention of saving the USSR: for him, it is only a dream that never came true, not a goal.

What should a writer do in the past? Of course, write. Step by step, fame comes to him, and he brings to life a long-standing dream from his former life—he creates a cycle of military novels that resonates with readers, especially front-line troops and veterans.

The hero has no magic or superpowers—only memories, which have become noticeably sharper thanks to the experience of the years he has lived. He leads an ordinary life, persistently works on his books, manages to fall in love, and keeps a close watch on how the fates of his loved ones change. And yet, regardless of what he does, events begin to unfold in the country that did not exist in his first reality.
