Zinaida Grigoryevna Fosdick (c. 1889–1983) was born in Odessa and studied in Leipzig and Vienna. From 1914 she lived and worked in New York. She was one of the closest disciples and associates of N.K. and E.I. Roerich, and the permanent Vice-President of the N.K. Roerich Museum in New York. She took part in the famous Central Asian expedition of the Roerichs and led the Agni Yoga Society.
"Zinaida Grigoryevna is my trusted Friend and our associate for many years already… I trust her completely and know her absolute selflessness and devotion to the Great Master. She is always occupied with her work, not with sweet words, and she trusts others. She is not sentimental, but she sees and feels much of what others do not notice. She is ready to sacrifice everything in order to fulfill what has been indicated to her… I love her and affirm that she is the most valuable associate and friend."
E.I. Roerich. From a letter to B.N. Abramov
