Description
Francesco Piccolo is a winner of the Strega Prize—one of Italy’s most prestigious awards—and the acclaimed film award “David di Donatello.” A successful film was made in 2019 based on his book “Minutes of Ordinary Happiness.”

A cheerful Italian, writer and brilliant screenwriter Francesco Piccolo finds reasons to be happy at every step. He happened to find a good parking spot, spent a hot August in the city, walking evenings with a charming woman, decided not to stand in line at the supermarket, and felt like a free man. He even likes what, supposedly, shouldn’t be likable: breathing smog, getting into street arguments, or watching television with the radio turned on.

“Minutes of Ordinary Happiness” consists of many short sketches that add up to a whole life. There are funny travels of wine bottles around evening Rome, love, and small, disguised confessions. The author—character—seems to be playing all the time, with the listeners, with friends, and with his own fate. And in this game, his childhood, youth, the story of his marriage, his relationship with the world and with people, unexpectedly begins to peek through. And with the Eternal City, where the everyday events of this festive audiobook take place.
