The Mist

David Drayton goes into town to do some shopping with his young son and a neighbor, leaving his wife at home after a night storm. Everything seems ordinary until a strange, dense fog begins rolling in from the lake, rapidly swallowing the surroundings.

Once inside the store, David soon realizes that something truly terrible has happened. The fog conceals an unknown threat, cutting people off from the outside world and turning familiar space into a trap.

But the danger does not come only from outside. Panic grows among the people trapped in the store, and against this backdrop the voice of Mrs. Carmody grows louder — a fanatical woman who sees what is happening as a sign from above. Gradually, fear of the unknown begins to destroy people from within, turning the wait for rescue into a struggle for survival.
