Description

Sam Spade and his partner Miles Archer are owners of a private detective agency in San Francisco. One day, a charming Miss Wonderly comes to them asking to find her younger sister, who ran off with a certain man. A harmless-looking investigation leads to the most unexpected results. The very next night after the search begins, two people are killed: one of them is Archer, whose wife Spade is having an affair with. Then Spade receives a visit from some thin fellow who offers him five thousand dollars for a rare Maltese Falcon statuette—something he’s sure is kept by Spade. Soon it becomes clear that the two cases are connected, and that Miss Wonderly isn’t who she claims to be.
