“Ascension” is the second audiobook in the “Heart of Zondakar” series. Young Aira, having lost her memory as a result of an incident unknown to her and having started life from scratch, tries to find her place in this world. Alas. Being far from a fighter by nature, she copes with difficulties differently — she does not leap over obstacles at once, but carefully goes around them. She does not charge straight ahead or threaten ill-wishers with terrible punishments, promising inevitable retribution, but tries to understand and forgive others’ ignorance. She simply lives as best she can. She tries to listen to and feel this world. She accepts it as it is. She sees with her heart. She breathes in the same instant with it. She does not try to remake it and break it to suit herself.
