Marie Fredriksson (1958–2019) was a Swedish singer, composer, and lead vocalist of the famous group Roxette, known for hits like “Joyride,” “The Look,” “It Must Have Been Love,” and “Listen to Your Heart.” In 2002, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Despite the severe consequences of radiation therapy, Marie continued her music career and even returned to the stage.
“ I only want to tell how everything was. Without embellishment. Pure truth.” This is how Marie Fredriksson described the idea of this book to journalist and writer Helene von Zweigberg.
In this book, the floor belongs to Marie Fredriksson, to her family and loved ones. These pages contain a story of a great love, bottomless sadness, incredible success, and a comeback taken in defiance of every twist of fate. And it’s all made possible by a huge love for life.
