The second book of V. M. Shukshin’s novel “Lyubavins.” Both books are connected by the succession of heroes: in the second, the children of the heroes of the first book act, but overall it did not become a direct continuation of the first.
From the 1930s, the events are moved to the 1950s. The problem of the Russian character, the path of the Russian peasant—topics that have always concerned the writer—are traced across both books.
