A Hundred Million Francs

France, early 1950s… The whole country is in uproar over a sensational crime: 100,000,000 francs have been stolen from the Vintrimillieu–Paris train! Newspapers are screaming headlines; the best detectives in the country are on the hunt for the criminals. At the same time, in a small town of Luvigny, another theft occurs. But it doesn’t interest journalists, and even the local police officer remains calm: it’s not a big deal—children from the Little Misery Street had their little three-wheeled toy horse stolen.
