Description
The novella “A PEASANT’S SON” is a story of the life of a rural teacher Nikolay Ivanov and his generation—children of peasants who became intellectuals. The narration begins in the pre-war year and reaches our days. In the novella, there are reflections on one’s place in life, on one’s duty to one’s people, and on responsibility for the fate of one’s native land.

Vasilyev Ivan Afanasyevich (July 21, 1924, in the village of Verkhovinino, Bezhanitsky District, Pskov Oblast — December 31, 1994) is a Russian writer.
Born into a peasant family. Author of journalistic essays and novellas, including those devoted to the pressing problems of rural life. Organizer and creator of the literary-art museum of the history of the Great Patriotic War in the village of Borki, Velikoluksky District.
