She arrives at an old country estate near Saint Petersburg, expecting to simply hide from her troubles and catch her breath, but instead of peace and quiet she finds herself right in the thick of mysterious events— and in the world of shadows from the past that have been disturbed.

Here, a cozy mystery is interwoven with a light touch of mysticism. The reader will encounter a gloomy yet charming mansion, a vanished emerald necklace, the feeling that the house knows far more than it’s willing to reveal right away, and the key “witness” to everything— a black cat.

Something is amiss at the ancient estate outside Saint Petersburg. The owners seem to have no luck, and the ghosts of old stories will not let themselves be forgotten.
