Description
In 1941, British intelligence unsuccessfully struggles to decrypt the code of the German cipher machine “Enigma.” To achieve results, they hire the best experts in decryption—among them mathematician Alan Turing, a brilliant scientist, but a bit out of place in the world. Getting the support of his colleagues will help Joan Clarke—the only girl on the team working on “Enigma.” Alan and Joan will even manage to get engaged, because they respect each other deeply—yet it won’t come to a wedding. Turing doesn’t want to torment the girl, because he can’t go against his nature: he is gay, and in Great Britain gays were persecuted by law.

A film has been made about the mysterious, “coded” fate of the great cryptographer: "The Imitation Game," which won the main award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014. Turing is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, famous for his role in the TV series "Sherlock." And Joan Clarke—the fiancée who never became a wife—was played by Keira Knightley.

The National Board of Film Critics in the United States and the American Film Institute included "The Imitation Game" in the top 10 films of 2014. The film also received five nominations for the Golden Globe.

It’s time for the world to learn about Turing.
