A drama in six acts. From the book “Pray for Me.”
Viktor Vasilyevich Likhachev (1957–2008) was born in the town of Kireyevsk, Tula Region, into a family of teachers. Historian, journalist, writer, playwright. Member of the Union of Writers of Russia. Author of the novel “Who Will Hear the Finch?”, the novella “Diary of a Traveler,” and the play “... And Their Mother Sophia,” as well as short stories.
“He was a true Russian intellectual— a man with his own convictions and judgments on the most burning questions, from the way city life is organized to political processes in the country and the world. You could disagree with him, but even his opponents could not fail to respect those positions. Injustice and contempt shown by momentary rulers—toward people, toward the country, toward the people, toward moral values—wounded his tormented heart to the core.”
