Saint Petersburg, 1893.
Yesterday I was designing buildings in Moscow of the 21st century. Today I’m locked in a private mental hospital in the body of a powerless noblewoman.
Everything has been taken from me — from my property to my freedom. By the laws of the empire, I’m nothing more than a “mentally unsound minor,” a toy in the hands of a guardian.
I have no allies and no friends, but I do have knowledge of the future and the rage
which present-day Alexandra has never had.
A little about the book:
1. This is an alternative Russian Empire. I won’t follow historical facts in everything. If something seems not quite the way it was in the textbook, it was probably planned that way.
2. There’s no magic here (except for the very fact of being a time/realm traveler).
3. Everything extra — under a spoiler.
4. Typos in private messages, as well as any logical plot holes you notice, I’ll be very grateful for.
5. Don’t forget to leave likes and write comments — that’s my fuel.
6. And last but not least: if you know what the courtyards of Saint Petersburg smelled like in 1893, write in the comments—I’d be interested to read it.
