Urban Legends

In summer 2021, LitRes: Samizdat, together with the pop culture, science, and self-expression festival “STARCON,” held a competition for independent authors, “Urban Legends.” Winners received the chance to publish in an anthology of stories with the same name.

Readers can look forward to ten gripping stories happening on the streets of real and fictional cities.

The authors imagined how future technologies would affect people’s destinies; how elf-green cities would be twisted by invaders; and how society would look where the isolation of the addicted becomes the norm, and the cities they are exiled to become like a zoo. They also write about searching for oneself, magic statues and bridges, trials and friendship, magic and technology.
