Seraphima Orlova is a young writer. Her novella “Tinhead” made it into the shortlist of the literary prize “Knigu ru.” The story is aimed primarily at teenagers. The main character, a girl named Zhenya by the nickname “Jest,” faces many of the problems her peers encounter during an emotionally difficult period. After a fracture, she is forced to walk with a crutch. Because of this, she becomes deeply self-conscious—especially when she runs into her ex-boyfriend at a robotics club. The author shows Zhenya with all her feelings, flaws, and strengths, making the heroine of the book close and familiar to all of us readers and listeners, because even if we aren’t teenagers now, we all were once.
