Hedda Gabler

The celebrated Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, whose influence many compare to Shakespeare’s, created an incredibly tragic play about a freedom-loving heroine!

The play tells the story of Hedda, daughter of General Gabler, married to the scholar Jörgen Tesman, and feeling unhappy and trapped within her new role as wife and mistress of the house. She longs for her former freedom and seeks beauty and heroism that she cannot find in the everyday life around her.
