This book is based on a unique course devoted to two outstanding intellectuals of the 20th century: psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and writer Clive Staples Lewis—people who managed to say something fundamentally new about God and the human being, as well as the so-called eternal questions: how to live and what to believe in. For the first time, in one book, the ideas and lives of two world-famous thinkers—yet diametrically opposed in their views—are juxtaposed. The author is a psychiatrist and professor at Harvard University. A four-part documentary film has been made based on the book, and a stage production has also been put on in Broadway.
