The Fake

Chaegyeon Song is a gifted but withdrawn schoolgirl who has grown used to relying on herself alone. When her classmate Dohui suggests making counterfeit money, Chaegyeon sees it as a chance to break out of hardship and move closer to her dream. However, what begins as a way to raise funds for her education quickly turns into a dangerous game where lies, fear, and other people’s secrets call the shots.

It turns out that it isn’t only banknotes that are forged. Any misstep tightens the net around the heroine, making it seem impossible to escape—until a single tragedy flips her life upside down. Now Chaegyeon must decide what matters more: no matter what it takes, hold on to the future she has worked so hard to build, or pay for it with an unbearable price.
