Elul: A Time of Introspection

Elul is the name of the sixth month of the Jewish calendar. After it comes the seventh month—Tishrei—which begins with Rosh ha-Shanah and then, 10 days later, comes Yom Kippur. It turns out that Elul is the prelude to those days of strictness and judgment—the Fearsome Days. Elul is a special month.
