A collection of 8 detective stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, published in 1917 (in a British edition—unlike the American one, which had 7 stories: “The Cardboard Box” was moved to the collection “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes”). It includes stories that were published in periodicals in 1908–1913, as well as the story “His Last Bow,” written in 1917. Originally, the collection was called “Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes,” and the above-mentioned story was not included, but after it was added to later editions, the collection was renamed.
