The Devil in Me

The end of the 20th century. Stolypin is assassinated, and the new Minister of Internal Affairs, Makarov, immediately dislikes the State Councillor Lykov. Makarov is a man devoted to laws, while the investigator often disregards them in the interest of inquiry. Lykov also pokes his nose into the wrong matter—trying to inform the government about English plots to strangle the Maikop oil fields.
