Investigator for especially important cases Malinin travels to Karelia. Here, several murders occur that resemble his previous case in a neighboring city. When Colonel Malinin arrives at the scene, he understands he’s dealing with a criminal whom he believed had already been neutralized. Malinin’s team faces a difficult task. While investigating the murders, they find a terrible shrine in the caves. During the search of the caves, practically before their eyes, a girl—an amateur speleologist—gets kidnapped. In the caretaker’s hut at the cemetery, Malinin once found the skeleton of a long-missing teacher. And one of the victims is recognized as a relative by people who have nothing in common with each other. And the detective realizes that the previously solved crime is only the tip of the iceberg.
