Meteorites brought deadly viruses to Earth, and almost all adults died; those who didn’t die were reborn as bloodthirsty mutants. Both the dead and the transformed included small children—those under 10 years old. Only teenagers aged 10–15 survived and kept their sanity. They had to create a new world and a new civilization.
The anti-utopian novel takes place in Saratov and its surroundings. Fifteen-year-old Andrey Komarov, a recent schoolboy and candidate for a master of sports in boxing, became the leader of one of the teenage communities. He understood in time that it was necessary to stock up on weapons, and that helped the community stand their ground against assaults from teenage gangs that sought to build a slave society—and successfully repel attacks by the insane mutants that fed on the blood and flesh of animals and people.
