Jenny Manson is a psychologist and family counselor. It has always been important to her to understand people more deeply and see them as they truly are, without external disguises. In everyday life, however, many hide their real essence behind facial expressions, habitual gestures, and a chosen style of behavior. That’s how she came up with the idea of an anonymous written questionnaire on the topic: “What does it mean to be yourself for you?” Many people responded to the invitation and willingly shared honest stories about themselves. The author hopes the book will help readers better understand the reasons behind other people’s actions and look at the world differently—with more empathy toward the vulnerability and insecurity that are often hidden behind a carefully constructed facade.
