Mikhail Bulgakov “Run. Eight Dreams. A Play in Five Acts.” The play was staged in 1962 (written in 1937). Performed by theatre actors. Duration: 03:09:40.
The book is devoted to the tragedy of Russian nobility and the intelligentsia in the terrible years of the Revolution and the Civil War. The best people of Russia were defenseless before the wind of time that swept them away. They can try to fight the inevitable—or accept it as a given; they can save their lives by fleeing abroad—or they can obediently wait for the decision of their fate at home. In essence, this changes nothing already. They are doomed—and helpless in the face of the cruel times into which they were forced to live.
