B. N. Kamov’s book was created over the course of almost two decades. It is the most complete biography of A. P. Golikov-Gaidar.
The author set himself the task of finding out how fair the accusations were concerning crimes allegedly committed by A. P. Golikov during the Civil War. Since the late 1980s, dozens of obscure “Gaidar scholars,” led by V. A. Soloukhin, author of the book Salt Lake, had made such accusations.
The results of B. N. Kamov’s investigation were stunning. Not a single accusation that could be checked against documents was confirmed.
