“Long time no see,” Gleb raised his eyebrows and studied Asya’s right hand. “So… not married?”
“No,” she said, turning to stone with fear.
“And no children?” The question that made blood freeze in her veins.
“In fact, there are, Isakov, there are,” Asya answered in her mind. “Two wonderful daughters. And their eye color and facial features are yours. But you’ll never learn about them.”
“Also no children,” Asya lied—and at that moment, two of her “apples” ran out of the office.
“Mom, look what we drew!” the girls shouted, showing their drawings.
Gleb narrowed his eyes, and from the icy tone in his voice she wanted to shiver.
