“Steel Sharks” is a collection of short stories by Eduard Ovechkin about his studies at a military-maritime school and his service on the Typhoon-class submarine TK-20, nicknamed “Akula” (“Shark”). The author shares tales from life in the fleet where there is room for rough, yet incredibly charming soldierly humor. This dynamic narrative is packed with vivid images and reads very easily; however, the unprepared reader may be shocked when a cheerful army story ends with a tragic dedication: “To the fallen battle comrades...” Unfortunately, even in peacetime, a submarine is a very dangerous place.
Attention! The stories contain profanity.
